Hepato Pancreato Biliary Consultant

An influential and rewarding role with the scope to implement positive change, you will work as a Hepato Pancreato Biliary Consultant and undertake clinical duties in HPB Surgery and General Acute Trauma Surgery. The Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Unit, in combination with the General Acute Trauma (AT) Surgery Sub-unit, is committed to the provision of comprehensive, high quality and accessible advanced HPB and Acute Trauma Surgical care to the Royal Adelaide Hospital patients. Your key duties will involve a proportionate contribution to the Hospital's General ASU in conjunction with the other three General Surgical Units, as directed by the Director of the Surgical and Specialties Service and the Head of the HPB Surgery Unit and General Acute Trauma. Drawing on your exceptional leadership abilities, you will supervise the clinical practice of, and teach HPB Surgery to Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and undergraduate Medical Students. Additionally, you will assist in HPB research and development projects and surgical audit programs associated with HPB Surgery and General AT Surgery.

Thriving in a challenging and dynamic environment where high level communication skills are essential, you will be a Fellow of RACS, or equivalent, and be eligible for registration as a Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority. You will have considerable experience in an ANZHPBA accredited, or equivalent, HPB Surgical Training position to a satisfactory standard. Able to supervise, direct and control staff, you will foster excellent working relationships which demonstrate courtesy, respect, honesty, providing good service, promoting health and promoting the goals of the institution.
