
Dr Christos Apostolou
Dr Christos Apostolou, FCS (SA), FRACS, is a specialist UGI/HPB surgeon. He completed surgical training in Cape Town, followed by a one year Trauma and a two-year fellowship towards the Certificate of Surgical Gastroenterology by the South African College. He was awarded a Masters in Surgery by the University of Cape Town. He was a consultant surgeon and lecturer in Surgery at UCT. In Sydney, he undertook a further two-year fellowship South western Sydney, and admitted to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
He holds expertise in upper gastrointestinal, liver, gallbladder and pancreatic surgery with focus in upper GI oncology, antireflux and laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery and endoscopy/ERCP.
He is accredited at the Sydney Adventist, Northern Beaches Hospitals and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital for which he is the College training supervisor. Christos is a Clinical senior Lecturer USyd, Conjoint Senior Lecturer at UNSW, Clinical Lecturer Macquarie University, and on his second term on the Board of the ANZHPBA.
